My uncles swears by the Carbon Express hybrids they have at wal mart . I decided I would try them to see how I liked them . (Actually UTgrad knows why I bought them , I was originally going to take the fixed blade off and put it on a Killzone . ) Anyways , I picked up a pack of these for 12$(3) .They were pretty sharp out of the package but I did touch them up a bit .
I took them with me yesterday and ended up shooting that turkey at 68 yards and still got a pass thru , and the damage was tremendous to the bird . The fixed blade did get damaged a bit when it stuck in the ground and hit a rock but that would have happened to any of them .
This morning , since I had a couple of them left I left one in my quiver and headed out . When I climbed up and got ready I decided to use that arrow . I shot this little doe at 930 and holy cow . It was a two lung and clipped the heart shot (the picture is entrance and it exited right below the base of the neck on the off side , I wish I would have thought to get a picture of the exit (about a baseball size hole) but I was too worried about getting her cooled down . So blood was spraying immediately after I shot . I broke a blade after it again passed thru and stuck into the ground and hit a rock .
These little broadheads are pretty wicked and are a lot cheaper than other hybrid heads . It makes me wonder why I ever get the expensive heads when the majority of the time on a pass thru the blades or head gets damaged . I figured someone might be on a tight budget and looking for a good hybrid head and these would fit the bill and get an approval from me .
