We managed a good mess todayout of Douglas Lake.Biggest went 3lb 7oz. Fish fry in 2 weeks!

crappie are good but I'm afraid I have to side with pledbetter....
 
If it does not come from the ocean, walleye is without a doubt the best. Walleye from northern waters (minnesota, ontario) do taste much better than walleye from Tennessee though.
 
Crappie are very over-rated. Most people say they like them, but what they realy like is the beading and the oil.

Wrap a walleye fillet in foil with sliced onion, lemon pepper, butter, and salt, and cook it over campfire coals, and you've got a meal fit for a god.
