Walleye Opener

3 days and I'm off to Onieda Lake in New York for the walleye opener. By far the best eating fresh water fish you can catch. Anybody else ever go up north to get after the big "eyes"?

obviously y'all have never had SNOOK..."florida fish" nocturnal just like walleye but way better tasting...google them

Dont need to go all the way up north, Dale Hollow is full of them.

Yes. I have fished Onieda several times. Caught a boat load and a bunch through the ice. I normally go up to NY and fish walleye and hunt turkeys but I found both here in TN. Get back with me. I sent ya a PM.

Whatever trips yur trigger :grin:...IMO a mess of panfried gluegills cain't be beat

Dont need to go all the way up north, Dale Hollow is full of them.

And South Holston.....seven good ones in two trips.All on top water.Nothing like the sound of a walleye killing a topwater in the dark.

i couldn't disagree more. crappie, trout, catfish, bluegills are all better than walleye. i have been known to cut them things up for bait so i could catch something worth eating.

never understood the yankee fish "seasons" either.


also tellico, norris,center hill and most of the area reservoirs have walleyes.

i couldn't disagree more. crappie, trout, catfish, bluegills are all better than walleye. i have been known to cut them things up for bait so i could catch something worth eating.

naw. they just taste like they smell. too fishy.

Walleye are definitely some fine eating! Crappie and bluegill are a close second! I used to go to Lake Erie when I was growing up and catch them.
