As far as hunting with them..I hear too much, every leaf that drops so I don't wear them. I have a friend that uses them for shooting skeet and trap and he likes them. Having said that, he also always likes all of the newest gadgets
I'm not as concerned as much about enhancing my hearing is i am about preserving it. I think this type of device could help me hear some while keeping me from loosing more hearing. I am surprised more people are not concerned about hearing lose.
Been thinking about getting something like this. Right now I wear my shooting muffs while gun hunting. I keep them on my head and pull them over my ears before shooting. Maily because I can not afford to lose any more of my hearing.
I currently have tinnitus in my left ear - got in while in the US Marine Corps.

I've been using the game ears for a couple of years now. I tried one and it worked but I couldn't tell direction the sound was coming. I purchased a second one to solve that problem. Noise protection is great with them .When I shoot my gun, it sounds funny because it blocks the initial crack of the gun but you can hear the "echo" of the shot.
Tip #1 :I purchased a set of the Radians custom molded ear plug kit.I made some ear plugs to fit my ears and fitted the game ears to them. They are comfortable to wear even in warm weather.
Tip #2: remove the batteries from the game ears when you are not using them and place the batteries in original packaging. It increases battery life dramatically. Leaving them them in the game ear drains them slowly for some reason even though they are not in use.
They are a nusiance if you hunt close to a road, running water,
etc. as tire noise is down right irritating. Once I climbed a tree about an 1/2 hour before daylight during a muzzleloader hunt. I had a turkey gobble at daylight in a tree about 40yds behind me and I nearly messed myself. They work great for me, as my hearing is poor. I never knew all the sounds I have been missing in the woods until I got my game ears
