I used them but have the hardest time figuring out the direction of the aproaching game? had a turkey circle me but coudle not pin point him..Does this happen to you?

I bought one and used it a couple or maybe three times. You are correct that it messes up sound orientation too much for my tastes. I hear something, but often times it would be a bird digging under the leaves, or something else...like my breathing that I was hearing.
I put it back in the package and stuck it in my box of "stuff I got suckered into buying".
Maybe it works for some people, but I just couldn't get the hang of it.

I got one of these too!!!

I own one and yes it does take a while to learn just how to use it...It took me two weeks to finally get use to it and know which way the game was approaching. Force yourself to keep using it and it will come together and it helps me alot. Leason learned for me was do not max out the volume...half way works best for me...Keep trying it and good luck...

I need to get one of those, primarily for hearing protection. Just got my hearing results back and it shows that at the 3k herts range it takes 40 db before I can hear it in my left ear only.

I think electronic hearing protection of some kind is mandatory if you have a rifle with a muzzle brake. If not, I wouldn't use them.
