Anyone with first hand experience with these scopes? I've seen the regular Diamondback and wasn't impressed.

The HP's are really good for their price range. The glass is much better than the original Diamondback but in my estimation the best upgrade is the better eye relief.
I have owned a few HP's and they have all functioned great. They track exactly as they should and are plenty right for any shooting hours we have here. They have a really large range of adjustment and the field of view is really good as well. You can find deals on them from time to time and you would be hard pressed to find a better scope in the $250 range.

I just bought a Vortex Diamondback HP 2-8 on EBay for $177, delivered. I was going to buy a Leupold VX-2 for $240 but that's too big of a price difference. Thanx as always for your responses.
I have one on my model 7- 7mm08 . I really like it.
