yote/grey double, grey's on the right in the same trap that held the other female 2 days earlier. check out the location. calf dump/boneyard a few hundred yards down on the left by those pines. If a fella doesn't set this it's time for golf.

same dog, alpha female, fairly agressive

alpha male, gave me a good howl. check out his posture he's looking to fight.

Same here. Still too much "dog" like/personal. I admit, I do better work from a distance.

We shot our first "couple" last month. A young male first then a young female two days later in the same area.

Just shoot em. They may be coyotes, but a clean kill is the way to go. No sense in putting them through that kind of torcher.

Thank you for telling me how to pursue my love of the outdoors bob"theglasshouse"bowhunter. How many gut shot deer have you sent scampering off into the brush to die a terrible painful death? And if not you, other bowhunters? (I am a bowhunter and my intention is only to illustrate the hypcracy of your comment, not attack bowhunting as you have attacked trapping) The coyotes in my trap are not injured until I dispatch them, and they die in seconds. Do you see even a drop of blood on this typical uninjured paw? If you want to rant start your own thread don't hijack mine.

Pass thru can you tell me more about your sets. What do you use for lure and bate?

my sets.....I use mostly dirt holes. This year I bought a used sthil BT45 auger, and use it when I can to get a good hole 12"+. Last year I made a couple of gallons of bait from dobbins solution and tainted beaver....they really go for that. Red fox urine on the backing. Either Carmans or June lures, mostly red fox, sometimes cat gland lure. I put a small amount of lure on a piece of sheeps wool and toss it down the hole.

Very important is to bed your trap solid and make sure it's freeze proof. I use a lot of peat moss because it sheds the water.
