Does anyone know where the best place to get this would be? I would like to try it in my savage.

midsouth shooters in Clarksville has it, I'm shooting N110 in the Savage .50

Thanks, what kind of bullet are you shooting it with and are you happy with it?

Hornady .452 250 grain XTP, short black MMP sabots, and 44.5 grains of N110 gives me about 2375 fps, with not much kick. If you're more of a girly-man 41 grains is moving around 2240 fps and is very tame.

Buy the XTP's out of the reloading section instead of the ml section, box of 100 only about $23.22. Hornady item #45200

This is a very basic Savage load, I saw no reason to tweek, somebody else had already done all the work for me.

I shoot n120 w/ a 300 MX exp and 300sst. Of all the powders I've tried this stuff rocks.

LOADS BELOW ARE WITH 250 grain BULLETS ONLY

Good loads for beginning Savage users:

1) 44-45 gr VV-N110 (times @ 2,400 fps+/-)
2) 42-44 gr SR-4759 (times @ 2,200-2,300 fps)

Good loads for anyone with a chrono and 1/2 a brain:

1) 73-75 Alliant 10x (do not exceed 2,550 fps)
2) 70-78 gr H-4198 (FWIW: recoil at 78gr is painful. pressure is sane. speed is 2,750 or so)

I shoot smaller bullets at 3K with less recoil than any of the above loads. Change barrels...

Rocks alright, better be hangin on when you squeeze the trigger, can't handle shooting the 300s.

i got the red crushed ribs with the 300 gr pt gold with 57 gr of n120 so far so good.
