I've had some really exciting hunts over the past week or so. For me, it seemed like the switch got flipped last Saturday when all that rain came through. Before then, I just wasn't seeing much movement and hardly any sign. After that rain the deer really started to move where I'm hunting (and on camera) and I found some good rubs and fresh scrapes. About 20 after 2 today I had a doe lead a parade of bucks past my stand. And I ended up shooting this guy at 35 yards. He went about 15 yards and expired. The other bucks acted like nothing happened and were content to follow that doe past me and out of sight. Including another buck in the same class as the one I took. I got some great video. Very fun afternoon in the woods. And a hunt I hope to never forget.
