The weather was not the best. But I did manage a couple outings while in Florida.

The first beach (oceanside) and first day yielded two pieces of unidentifiable trash metal.

The 2nd day and a short 1.5 hours of detecting yielded $0.27 and a multitude of bottle caps. This was on a small beach on the Indian River. This beach wasn't hunted as much due to the amount of trash I found. The oceanside beaches are definitely hunted often.

Overall take of the trip. I had fun and I am learning more about my Nokta Legend detector. I'm already planning my next trips. Both close to home and on the coast.

What's the most valuable or interesting thing you have found in the past?
I found a cubic zirconia ring once, and some other costume jewelry. I was at a friend's apartment detecting but this ring was just laying in the gravel driveway and I spotted it with my eyes. I also found a civil war suspender buckle. I found a hunting knife. I have found lots of clad coins.

I've yet to find any valuable jewelry or silver coins. But someday I will find the mother-load of treasure every detectorist strives for and keeps searching for.

Like I've said before.. ive walked a million miles down the beach and all I have to show is beer caps and tent stakes!!! lol

A lot of treasures have been found along the ocean side beaches between Vero and South towards Port St Lucie….👍
That's why I was there. Mostly scouting for after a big storm. That's when the chances rise for finding a little of the lost gold. And it's what keeps me doing this.

Funny story, shortly after my neighbor moved in he offered to take my son and I out detecting. I told him of a spot I deer hunt and suggested we try there. 10 minutes into it my son finds an 1852 seated half dime. We yelled over to the neighbor to tell him and he scoffed at us thinking we were teasing him. At the time I had no idea what it was or that it was a fun find. When we finished and put all our finds on the truck bed, the neighbor about flipped out in disbelief. Said he'd been hunting for decades and had never found one. I don't think it's worth a lot but was pretty cool for the kid. He thought he'd just won the lottery lol.

That's a great story. We all should be so lucky.

A couple years ago my bride and I were walking on the shoreline in Gulf Shores. I commented "how weird would it be to find a wedding ring…". Less than five minutes later, there was a silver band tumbling up the sand with the surf. This was no treasure hunt, just a stroll down the beach,
