Okay I need some advice. I have 4 vacation days to use between now and the end of the year. I can't use them around any of the holidays since those days are already taken by others. Since I can't make the holidays extended I might as well use them for hunting days.

Which days would you take off, if you hunted just north of Lafayette in Macon Co.? If this was Wisconsin I would use them around Halloween for non pressured rut hunting. Any advice would be helpful.

Yes, definately a bow hunter, I'll only gun hunt if I don;t have meat in the freezer towards the end of the season. I don't hunt with the smoke poles, though.

The end of bow season or the first part of MZ season. In that area, you should have a fairly early rut, peaking some time between the 10th and 17th of November. The two weeks prior to that time is when mature bucks move most during daylight.

If i had only 4 days to hunt all year.It would be November 6,7,8,and 9th.To heck with the moon or what weapon season it is.

Wednesdays.

Not being funny either. Given a choice I'd use a couple of those days during the middle-ish of the week when it gets quiet(er). Older deer get tuned in right quick as the season rolls along when it is a little quieter in the woods with somewhat less intrusion.

I've got 20 something vacation days to burn before January or ill lose them...ill be off every Friday in October, both weeks of mz, every Friday in November and December :-)
