Started the morning off with a bang. My son shot a nice 8 but unfortunately we never recovered. Just found white hair so I think he just grazed him. We searched for 3
Hours then headed home to get little sister. We got on stand at noon and she had a her first doe down by 2pm. Talk about exciting. She will turn 8 in a couple weeks.

After cleaning we got back on stand with my boy and he passed 3 doe waiting for a buck. But no luck. Then me and 3 buddies searched with a dog for till 1030. Never found another hair or anything. But we had an awesome day and will be back up in a few hours.


Son finally got a doe. Only deer we seen today. Makes 6 years in a row for a kill and his 11th deer. Third doe.

Thank you all. It was a goal of mine to have both kids take a deer this weekend. It was challenging as the stand location made to where they was right on us before we could see. Between 2 pine thickets around a grown up field about 30 yards wide. I set a double ladder stand up early summer. Neither kid had hunted out of a treestand (shooting houses for the little girl and ground and shooting house for the boy). So it was a first for both. They said last night we need to take mommy so she can kill her first deer. I just laughed. Because she's a city girl at heart that puts up with a country boy raising kids just like him.
