V2 optima

I just got a new optima v2. Got the bh plug and some Barnes. I also had some orings from my previous optima and popped one in the new plug. I had some bh on hand. Put the new plug in and sighted in using some shockwaves. I noticed after the shot some of the primers were a pain to get out. I was shooting 70 grains weighed bh with both 250gr shockwaves and 285gr Barnes spitfires. Should I ditch the oring and see if that helps. I tried to see if if my primer pocket was tight but it didn't change my primers any.

I use 777 primers and they do not do this in my CVA Accura V2.............however many other brands expand so badly I have had to pry them out. Switch to 777 primers.

Real bad idea since he is using Blackhorn209 powder. Regular Win209 is worth trying if he has the Blackhorn209 breach plug. They might be long enough to not need the o-ring.

After my last outing I ditched the oring. No blowback but my primers are still swelled a bit.

Try a Win209 (longest 209) and if you can find them the Euro primers are fatter but they are also shorter and might need the 0-ring to seal. Fiocchi and Nobel have worked well for some people i know in their CVAs.

CVA sells a shim kit so you can adjust headspace of the firing pin bushing.

Last I checked cva was out of the shims. I probably only need a thin one. My primers aren't crushing any. Just swelling to the point I have to pry them out with a knife or the tool that comes with the gun. Lgs only had federals and 777 primers.

He might have the shims and just the other day they appeared to be instock as CVA direct. Carlos sells a ton of CVAs and even sets them up for folks. Very good guy to give business.

The CVA plugs are not as tight in OD as USA made MLs. Primer could be bulging for that reason or they just need to seat a bit deeper in the plug....Possibly both
