Using kerosene as a cover scent?

I talked to a fellow deer hunter the other day and he said he knew a guy that used kerosene as a cover scent. Anybody ever heard of this? It should definitely be strong enough to cover your scent but, it stinks. He said the guy told him that deer don't pay any attention to it.

I like to spray my boots down with paint thinner mixed with my wife's perfume and then carry a dozen mothballs in my pocket. They never know I'm there.

i think he is pulling your leg, because i believe kerosene would be slow drying therefore be sitting in the stand wet and cold. Plus have an oily residue all over him.

Yes, it works but whiskey works better. I use Jack Daniel's. Use a small spray bottle to mist your boots and pant legs to cover your scent on the way to your stand. Then apply it to scent wicks and hang them around your stand site. You can also use the spray bottle to cover your breath scent.

Or Vermin, you could just take it internally the night before to the extent that it just oozes out your pores the next day.....it'll make you take a bow instead of a gun though, but you will be hyper sensitive to noise.

I love some of the responses to this. I didn't know it would stir up like this. I really don't think I'll be trying it or some of the other things that some of you posted.
