this Weaver 3-15 Tactical is the first scope I have ever owned with a mil-dot reticle,,it is on a 338 Lapua chambered Savage rifle,,

up till now I have used a 100 yard zero and dialed in ever shot at different ranges,BUT today I shot 3 rounds at 500 yards with the 300 SMK bullet and 87 grs H1000 powder,,I was dead on high but just a little right at 3.1 Mils dialed in,I put in .3 mils left and fired one shot and was dead on,then I decided to come back at 100 and check the reticle dot spacing,,holding on the third mil dot low I fired two shots touching dead on high about 3/4ths an inch left..

I think with a little practice with a 500 yard zero I may be able to shoot to 900-1000 yards with no adjustments,,which would be killer,
