me and tubbz was goin to take the boat to collins river today but the ramp was icy, we hit black ice at the parking lot and the truck almost slid down the ramp sideways, so we decided to hit some good known bank spots.
i had the first sighting a small one but this got us exited and right when tubs was bout to use his new video cam this guy exploded on my lure 5 ft from shore but didnt hook it. and the race was on.....20 30 mins later tubbs hooked it with his marlin pole. heres me posing with his fish :D
this muskie was pissed off, almost stabbed tubbs in the leg with the gaff sized hook. not a bad day fishin from shore.

That's a great pic shore. My compliments to the cameraman...haha.
Caught at the super secret shore spot that has produced a couple fish for me this year already, and more than a few nice follows and blowups. This was the biggest I've seen here so far, but that doesn't mean much. There'll be a 50" in there somewhere, or bigger...

The fish was 46" and maxxed out the 30 lb boga, so we're calling it 32 pounds. Maybe a bit more, but who cares, a 30 pound musky is a 30 pound musky until it is a 40 pound musky haha. I got it on a 12" Shallowraider Bigfoot, and yes, the fish did its gator roll on the boga at shore, spun up the line, and for a moment impaled the front treble in my right calf, fortunately just short of the barb. Good thing that Boga spins too...worth the extra money, although I'd like to get a 60 lb model with the extended handle now. That would ensure that with a 12" lure my hand and legs are still well out of harms way. We got action from 4 other fish within an hour or so at this spot casting from the same 50 ft of shoreline.Considering the ice almost foiled it, this was indeed a stellar day.

let me just add the reason why i posted the pic of me holding his fish, is because tubbs was covered in mud from the muskie... :D :D
he had to jump in the cold water to properly handle and release this awsome fish. whished we were in a boat so it would have been less violent.
and please follow the handling procedures that is posted at most of the upper caney fork drainage boat ramps that twra has supplied.
