I shot one like this last year that turned out to be 2.5 despite a big body. I have no regrets at all for killing that one, but this one here looks similar and will probably grow up to be a lot bigger one day, so he gets a pass this year. I don't know how old he is but looks like he can grow some.

Sorry it's a pic of a pic, the card is still in the trail cam. I got several pics of him though.

Well honestly based on that pic I can't assign an age...I misread the original post and though it was a deer he KNEW was 2.5. Upon the second reading of the post that's not the case. There's no telling what his age is until Catman gets a different picture with better angles.
 
There's no telling his age till he blows up in rut, or even better gets killed. I don't even try to age summer bucks anymore, it's really just a guess that's not very accurate.

I do hope this buck is 2 year old like the one I killed last year, because he'd have some good potential at that age.
