I finally got a call back from ole Uncle Smokey about the ball game. He was in rare form after helping the bartender at the "The Tipsy Cow Bar" get rid of approximately 40 some bottles of beer that the labels got damage during the storm. Uncle Smokey called me around 3:30 am, this morning and was yelling into the phone with the jukebox in the background playing, Hank Williams Jr.
Uncle Smokey told me that it took him all weekend to figure out the big game as he was mumbling into the phone but it came to him while the winds were blowing through at about 90 mph Sunday morning. Uncle Smokey mentioned that the Gators' offense didn't look all that good against what ever team that they played a couple of weeks ago from up North but the Gators were going to blow through Tennessee's defense like the howling winds of Irma. I was shocked when Uncle Smokey threw out some stats that he found in the box scores, hanging in the local truck stop on the bathroom walls. He told me that ole Shoop and the crew were giving up so many yards against power 5 teams that it looked like try-outs for a track meet during a football game. Uncle Smokey really shocked me when he dug deep for this stat while he was slurring his words into the payphone. He told me that them ole Vols gave up 655 total yards against an non-ranked Georgia Tech, football team. He even mentioned that the mighty fighting Jacksonville State Gamecocks defense only gave up 322 total yards to Georgia Tech. I was really impressed with Uncle Smokey's research this year and I could tell that he was in a hurry to get back to the bar and help get rid of them damaged bottles.
I was finally able to get the final Score out of Uncle Smokey and he mumbled 27-10 to the good guys......... :tu: You can put it in the books because Uncle Smokey is 11-1 the last 12 year predicting this game. :rotf:
