If you want what the video claims a goodly portion of the earth population will starve. We are rapidly exceeding our ability to feed ourselves.

Instead of damning all that has preceded these elitist they know whats best for everyone should try to do something constructive besides flap their mouth.

And could you please point me to the science that proves the mercury in fish is from burning coal. In my best judgement they are just flapping their lips.

the movie is kinda wierd, they kinda contradict what they are wanting to accomplish. im all for not till, i can only think of a few old timer small farmers that dont no till. there are all sorts of hybrid vegetables that can grow with lower water and very little pesticides. they are preaching against GMO, but that is the new fad but the fact is we have been eating GMO in the form of hybrid varieties even in our own garden. we raise trout is tanks and release them every year, etc.

im all with reducing pollution though, just would hate to have ancountry like brazil or china or other countries that dont care. i know the EPA oversteps its bounds most of the time but without some sort of regulation we will end up like NewYork in the turn of the century and they are still paying for the industrial revolution era pollution.

well methyl mercury comes from coal burning stacks, mining(fly ash dumps), and volcanos. since we have no active volcanos in this are then it kinda narrows it down.

not to hijack, but hybrids are not GMO. A GMO (genetically modified organism) has had genes from a completely different unrelated organism inserted into its DNA in a laboratory. This is done for desired traits such as roundup immunity which you can't get from simple hybridization. GMOs are very controversial but we have been eating them since the 90s, so obviously there is a lot of blown up hype about how bad they are, and I think the truth is we really don't know the long term impacts on human health or the environment.

you are referring to the classical term such as F1 hybrids that would be classified as "natural hybrids". the "hybrid is not gmo" mantra has been used by the anti-gmo crowd for years and not realizing in the same breath of words that probably have been eating agrobacterium injected food for 8000 years without knowing it in the form of sweet potatoes, in which agrobacterium naturally injected its DNA. even roundup ready gmo sweet corn seed is sold as a hybrid moniker.

And, indeed, some things can take a long time to surface-cancer is just one of them.

And if GMO's really do hold a lot of potential then the business best be sure there are zero impacts anywhere.

yeah kinda like roundup was inert enough to drink it when it first came out. now i think they are finding it may actually be a carcinogen and can end up in groundwater. funny how the same company that said that holds patents for bt-corn.

on the otherhand, some forms of soil bacteria are actually helpful to the plant such as legumes to help store ammonia in the roots converted from air nitrogen. so i imagine we are ingesting those bacteria without ill effects.
