When you find that once in a lifetime point but its ears are broke off. You're elated and sick at the same time. Hard to describe to anyone that doesn't know what this is. 4" fully fluted Cumberland but the ears are broken off.

Oh man, that is a shame. That is still a great find for sure. I have hunted artifacts most of my life and have only found one paleo artifact, a square knife.

Omega thats a Clovis you have not a Cumberland
The pic in the OP's post did not seem to be broken to me, that is why I asked. Not my hobby so they look the same to me, I could not tell you what one is called unless it was labeled, correctly. It would be neat to find some though, but I would find it hard not to attach them to an arrow or spear to try out.

I would love to see better, cleaned-up pics. I'm not entirely convinced Cumberland because:

1. I'm seeing some flaking where the "ears" should be, if Cumberland.

2. Although I've seen some wide Cumberland's, the width-to-length ratio does not 100% fit Cumberland

If the ears are gone, they were broken off by the maker and this thing was used a while after that, before it was lost, which adds uniqueness to this artifact in my view.

Thats a fantastic find! Closest Ive ever came was finding a quad with an ear missing. I had it professionally restored. Yeah, its been fixed, but its still the prize of my collection.
