So this new "fair" waterfowl drawing system is B.S!!! Drawings were just held for the mid season draw and my buddy with 2 priority points didn't get drawn! WTH!? ALWAYS in the years past, if you had 2 priority points, you had a successful draw! This is complete CRAP!!
 
Unsuccessful here as well. I'm really confused by this whole system. If you don't get drawn, can you just not duck hunt at all this season?

I know a lot of people with, 4,5 or 6 points. Several didn't get drawn with 5 or 6 points. I had 5 points and got drawn. It just depends on what spots you put in for and the dates.

WHAT?? Its always been 2 points. Ive never heard of that many. What do you put in for? Our group has gotten drawn for the past 6 years with 2 points. We put in for Bogota mainly.

Do the points go towards blinds only or all other hunts i.e. quota deer and turkey?
I have yet to see me or my son have a single point anywhere.

You get a priority point for that specific draw—in this case, middle season waterfowl.

I had only 1 priority point in the middle season draw. None in the early draw. So me and some buddies just put in for our local blinds. Got drawn each time. So I'm already loving the "3 segments" division of the season. Ironically, not because I'm putting in for blinds out West. Just stakes in the ground I can hunt every day during the hunt.

It wasnt really until this year!! If they wouldnt have waived the fees and absolutely flooded the system with new people, I think it might be different. They should lower our sportsman lic. Next year since they gave one of our free perks away!!
 
I've never been, have always been interested in going until I started hearing about these latest changes. I hate it for you guys, and hope the Agency personnel recognize what they messed up on, and takes care of it.

It sounds like it's time for a meeting, where all the hunters show up, and firmly, but respectfully voice their opinion. If I was as passionate about duck hunting as most of you all, I'd make sure it was taken care of. Sounds like a real mess.

We have a group of people that draws together. Put in everyone for the same pool on the same day. Only 1 will get drawn. Other build points for a year want multiple spots or the same spot multiple draws in a row.
 
Unsuccessful. With each of these draws they are putting the nails in the coffin of TN duck hunting. I found a few new spots when all this mess started. But so did a lot of other people. So the lights were shining all over at 3:45 AM this past weekend. It's obvious to me that the overflows of unsuccessful applicants is gonna affect the guys that hunt the non tiered WMAs too. It's really no fun any more.

Sports analogy—All the players are suited up but there's no field to play 4 quarters on. The guys on the bench are getting all the playing time while the best players stand on the sidelines. That's how all this feels to me.

Thats what we do. I dont know about any of you guys but I am not joking OR LYING when I say its only been 2 points each and every time! I have never seen any more than that accumulated amongst a group of 6 guys so when you was sayin 4, 5 or 6, it blew my mind that you could go that long without being drawn. That is crazy.
 
If I had reach 4, 5 or 6 points and wasn't drawn I'd be contacting the qouta hunt office and asking for a rundown of the numbers. I'm not aware of a person making it past 2 points in our group.

I don't think your a liar, I also don't think you understand the definition of the word FACT. Fact is, it can, and does sometimes take more than 2 points to draw Bogata. Just because your group has been 6 straight years doesn't mean it only takes 2.

I am guessing you are putting in for some of the pools with very little interest. We put in for the top few spots and a lot more people are entered for those.
