TWRA non response

Had two trespassing guys hunting out of season on trail camera this morning.
Called two different numbers for TWRA and one private officer's number.
No response, no callbacks, crickets.
Guess folks can hunt anytime they want, anywhere they want.

Getting a response from TWRA is not always easy. I've called in the past and typically get a call back within 48 hours after leaving a message.

I've gotten pics like that before, juvenile season as well. All it takes is someone to ask and I would gladly accommodate a juvenile to hunt, but just taking it on ones self to go wherever on my place will get one prosecuted if I can.

Almost every where I hunt except for CNF has fences, is your property fenced? if just paint on tree's I might miss that in the dark trying to get somewhere I have never been but fences make good neighbors imo. I always know who's property I am on if private .

A landowner shouldn't have to spend thousands of dollars fencing his property to keep people out. People shouldn't go where they don't have permission.

Same here. The game warden in Henderson County is very responsive. He may tell you he's tied up elsewhere, on the other end of the county, etc. but he will answer your call and follow up when he can.

That's true. But when DA's won't prosecute criminals, they damn sure aren't going to prosecute someone cutting through your property.

True. The only real solution is the courts make the possibility of getting caught not worth the risk, and that's not going to happen.

The other big reason is that it's illegal for convicted felons to possess a gun.
Some of those who "only bowhunt" are for this reason.

If you can afford to own large tracts of land you should at least be able to afford to run 1 barbwire run around it and some signs imo, no fence posts needed most of the time as a staple will hold up for a long time, have seen wire over 20' up in the trees over the years,

Yes, trees grow, but you do realize they grow from the top up not from the bottom? If you nailed a wire to a tree 3 feet off the ground, in 100 years, it will still be 3 feet off the ground. Granted, the tree will swallow it up, but it will not raise in height any.

So if you're seeing wire attached to a tree 20 feet high, someone has used an extension ladder
