Dang it! I caught a quillback about three years ago that could have been a contender, and I didn't even know! Probably my only chance at record-holding glory and I blew it. :)

You gotta be kidding??!!

One of those record fish was "caught" with bow and arrow. Nothing wrong with bowfishing, but in some cases, it's apples and oranges compared to fishing. It's a ton easier to arrow a bighead buffalo or grass carp than to get one to eat something. I think a fishing record should be a fishing record, not open to shooting records.

there are totally different categories for archery and rod and reel fish.

on a side note: i have a buddy caught a 2 lb 5 oz. yellow bass, weighed and released it. i informed him that at the time, the record was 1 lb 14 oz.

Uhhh is this in the category of the trolling for alligators story of some years back?

Could someone show a picture of quillback carpsucker. I have heard that term in bars before but didn't know it was a fish.
