In case some of you thought you'd seen the 308 Target Rifle I just completed....here it is with it's near twin that I built a couple of years back. It was in the 7mm Remington Mag caliber with a matte finish chrome moly barrel and a gloss finish on the stock. The new 308 is a stainless barrel with a matte finish on the stock. The mounts and scopes vary a bit as you can see. I still haven't been able to get out to the range to wring out the 308 but I'll post when I do. Anyway, here's the twins.

Here's another shot although somewhat blurry of the left side of the new 308 Winchester.

Here's how the 7mm Remington Magnum shot at 100 yards.

And 200 yards....a little windage needed that day.

I love twins. I had a couple stainless walnut twins until today. One of the twins is now wearing a McMillan.

Those look like some fine shooting rigs.

Yep, those are both Boyd's. Unfortunately for some reason they quit making the varmint/target stock for the Savage and it's no longer available. I searched and got the last one in stock from a dealer in Arizona when I built the second one. I tried to get a gray laminate but it wasn't to be. I wound up taking the last of the nutmegs that they had and the dealer said there wouldn't be any more.

I have written to Boyds for 2 stocks I would like to have. They said they would put me on the list and contact me when they are ready. I want a Ruger M77 with the tang safety in Long Action, and a Marlin 917V, both in laminate with thumbhole. I would prefer the Peppermint. They have written me back and said they would build them, but didn't have a eta.
