Things I wouldn't post on the internet. There is a good chance I could read your search history and found out what general location that is in. People who previously didn't think about TVA land for turkey hunting.... Well, you just piqued their interest.
Theres been 10,000 crappie fisherman see those birds for the last five weeks, everyone and their brother in 5 counties and three connecting states know all about those birds, his video isn't hurting a thing

If you say so! Maybe not that immediate, but TVA lands in general. Folks will never learn....

I got 250 acres 5 minutes from my house I chase turkeys and deer on. I'm the only person that has permission. No need to compete for a solitary bird.

i do say so! I live here and those birds are hammered every spring by crappie fisherman and have been for trenty five years, everyone here knows about them. If you think for one minute you're hiding any public land birds that only you know about your a moron, those days are long gone

There will be 2-3 boats at the launch by 3:00 am opening day.

I apologize guys, I'm a moron. Continue forth advertising public land turkey. We see where its gotten us today.
I hope you're not a moron, but theres absolutely no way to hide lake birds when theyve been doing their thing since February in the hardest fished stretch of water on the lake, they have literally been photographed, videod, and gps marked by thousands of boats in the last two months. Your not gonna keep public birds a secret anymore

I don't think you're a moron and you have a valid point.
I guess I'm old school and believe in sharing information.
I'm also not a hard-core turkey hunter so if someone get him, I'd offer a heartfelt congrats.

I guess the question to be asked when we consider posting information such as this is: Will more people know about the location of these animals by posting this information?

The amount of people who already know about them is irrelevant. Posting the info is broadening the scope of reach.

So what's wrong with helping out someone who might not have a place to hunt?
Isn't that what these forums are for?

Alright guys, here's the location🤣

Yes and no. It is for helping our "buddies" so to speak, but not for helping random out of staters or internet scavengers looking to score an easy kill.

Personally I see nothing wrong with your video, but I also haven't had a public spot burned by loose lips, and I understand the guys who never even want to have their local public piece mentioned on an internet forum.

I just put up a video of a turkey getting it on with his old lady.
I've only lived here 3 years so I'm not letting out any secrets.

th88, you've posted lots of info/links on how to find SPECIFIC public land harvest data all across the US. Had you not posted those links, I'd have never known about them. Imagine how many others you informed besides me.

I just don't get some folks. You could drop a pin on a bird located and share it here and wouldn't mean anything to me. I'm just not the kinda guy to go try a kill a bird someone found, just not my cup of tea.
Amen!!

This is about as bad as guys who blackout background pictures when they're fishing.
It's silly.
I thought these forums were for helping each other out.

I think those of us regulars would do most anything to help one another out...

The problem is... these forums are internet searchable, and there are a LOT of potlickers on the internet who never post or contribute looking for any handout they can find.

I guess you could say im guilty as well. Ill sometimes post when I kill a bird on the south half of Desoto National Forest if its an interesting hunt....

But those who have hunted Desoto KNOW im not giving a Hotspot away. That place is a damn needle in a haystack for turkeys. If it pulls more OOS hunters here in MS and away from the better public spots, its a win for everyone in MS!

Pot lickers?🤣

The problem is the title of the thread. Posting the video is no big deal. You felt the need to note where it was for an interesting reason.

Did not know there were 10,000 boats out there. Much less that many crappie fisherman. Go ahead and post where you are catching crappie to help some people out.

They are lined up like freight trains trolling back and forth all day long, its hard to get in line most days😂 yes since February i guarantee theres been at least 10,000 boats through there

I guarantee you those monetizing turkeys on u tube are not going in blind into areas they have never put boots on the ground... they get pins from fan boys. Heck, I wouldnt be surprised if some arent paying for pins.

Its worse than most of you guys realize.

Turkey hunting is supposed to be HARD. There should be a sense of accomplishment when you put in boot leather and sweat equity to find a bird, then fool him to come into shotgun range.

I know you, REN ascribe to that philosophy. But not everyone is like you... so many want to kill a bird ASAP, post their kill on social media to brag about how good they are, then move to the next pin. for the next post. Its a different world than 20 years ago.
