Turtles

The cooking forum topic made me wonder.... how many of you have specifically fished for turtles? I haven't in a long time but I used to off and on. Almost any pond or creek will hold a few snappers but I always did better pond fishing. Some liver or cut bait sitting on the bottom, a gradual pulling on your line, and you're hooked up. I always gave mine away.

Me and my bud were well known back in the day for catching turtles. Everyone in the community would contact us to rid their ponds of turtles. We always used jugs and used a rod/reel to retrieve them. Cheap bacon worked great, stayed on the hook for days.
