OK,Ive got a couple acres dead from vegetation and I want to plant turnips (I know the deer dont eat them much but the honeybees love the yellow blooms in early spring) as well as some clover. Will I be able to just broadcast these seeds and cultipack or should I disc as well?I am planning on planting these this Sunday coming up. Thanks.Im not really hnting over this I like to hunt over cornfields.

Disturbing the soil will help, but if you can't make the seedbed more fine rough discing could hurt more than it helps. Maybe disc shallow followed by a drag would be your best bet.

The deer have wore my food plot out! Mostly turnip greens and sugar beets along with oats, brassicas and winter peas. The farmer we lease from over seeded his crops from an airplane this year. First time. You should see the deer eating those turnips greens. Deer LOVE them

I'm glad you're having better luck with the turnips. I've planted them 2 years previously and never had the first one touched. I finally quit wasting my money

My food plot is away from farm. No agricultural competition for lack of better words. Maybe that is the difference. however, as previously stated, they are wearing them out on the farm as well.
