All,
Just thought I would share my new Fan and Beard Display. I have seen many your handmade displays and have been quite envious of your woodworking skills. I have always had the desire not the talent to complete those type of projects.
This is a display plaque I ordered through a Taxidermist Supply Site. I made a few slight modiifcations the plaque. The plaque comes with the shells and leather already attached to hte plaque and the plaque is solid cedar.
I wanted to be able to display the spurs as well, so the first modifaiciton I made was cut the existing leather, replace with longer and addeded my spurs above the shell. I think this worked out pretty good, this plaque displays 10 beards.
This the first one that I did beacause we had all of the spurs for each beard. I removed the existing leather and added a longer piece to allw room for the spurs.
Here is the version I did adding on 2 sets of spurs becasue i oculd not find the others
I know this is not as good as many of your handmade displays but I thought these turned out pretty good.
