I'd drew a NOrth Carolina tundra swan a couple times previously in the 14 years since I moved to Tennessee. I put in again for one this year and got drawn and decided to make time to go kill one this year. Got up with a group of buddies who all had tags and we went yesterday.
I'd killed several in the past before I moved to TN but decided this year to kill one with my 28 gauge. I loaded up some TSS 7's and they wrecked the bird. I waited for a fully mature bird before pulling the trigger and looked like he ran into a freight train when that load of 7's hit him. My buddy also used my 28 to kill his bird and his was easily taken as well. I'd forgot how much fun they are. You're only allowed one bird but it's fun watching your buddies shoot theirs while sitting in the drainage ditch. Something about watching a bird with a 7' wingspan work decoys and do it right. Hopefully I'll get drawn again next year and I'll tote the 410!

They thought they were geese.
