What are you guys using when you fly? I need a new case this year for a trip to Canada and I'm torn on what to get. My old case was an SKB, but it ended up with a golf ball sized hole in it after the first trip. I have no idea how it got the hole, but it wasn't abused. I am looking at a Plano case that seems like it would be pretty sturdy but I am having a hard time with the history of Plano stuff being kind of flimsy. I thought about getting another SKB, but I was pretty disappointed that it didn't last any longer than it did at the price that it was.
 
Not sure TSA cares what you put them in.

But i've been to Canada 3 times so here is somethings that might help.
Buy a double bow case of what ever you prefer. I used a Plano. The extra room can be used for heavier items. Like pac boots.
You will pay extra for more than one check in bag. Over 50lbs? You will be charged for that also. Many charge extra for oversized bags also.
Use an extra large bag for your main check in. Don't fool with the ones with a hard bottom and rollers. They weight about 15 lbs. Don't want to waste the lbs on luggage.
Back pack is a must for carry on. To make things simple keep all metals out of you back pack. From experience, packs of hand warmers show up as metal under a detector. Then you will have to unload for inspection.

If your going to Saskatchewan let Thompson Travel Service in Saskatoon handle your travel, hotel and truck rental. If needed.
If possible book early and fly Southwestern.

When I fly, I use a Badlands Terra Glide. It's not so much a bow case as it is an oversized suitcase. It's got a hard bottom that my bow fits in perfectly. I strap it down and pack knives, arrows, clothes, ect. around it to fill out my 50 pounds. Mine is black and no one ever knows that it has hunting equipment in it. I truly think it is handled better than something that is obviously hunting related.

I use my backpack as my carry-on and will pack additional clothes in this. Flying out of Knoxville, I can usually gate check this so I'll also pack a smaller pack with my cameras, keys, night kit. This stays with me at all times.

By having just 1 checked bag, It gives me better options for bringing home meat and trophies. I also fly out for fishing trips and the added length of the Terra Glide allows me to pack fly rods that normally wouldn't fit in my luggage.
 
I checked a bunch of places and they are all the same price. I think Badlands must have some type of agreement with distributors that they can't lower the price and undercut competitors.
