Trying to improve my hunting property

I have two different property's I hunt and I'm try to make deer hunting a little better. On the one property I leased, I tried growing a food plot in a very rocky location and with the drought we had this summer, it did not turn out very good. I went out the other day and cleaned up the leaves, old straw from the summer. I'm trying to frost seed some clover and hope it does well.
On the other property, I put in a mineral site. I bought some Deer Cane products on sale at Wal-mart and a Trophy Rock.
The mineral site seems to be working already.
In two days I got 99 pics on the mineral site.

I was going to plant a food plot on my land this year. It's very rocky as well. My 3 pont lift stopped working so I never got around to it. The drought killed our neighbors plots though. They were horrible. I'm getting my lift fixed this month hopefully and I'm going to begin some clearing operations. The more green you have in November the better off you'll be. I have tons of bedding and more than my share of mast.

Yep !
Food plots tend to work better in areas where HARD weather hits HARD .

Look around in November and December once the pressure gets on. There is still plenty of greens everywhere . Deer are not as concerned about eating for survival as they are staying hunkered down for survival .
