Anybody have any luck with these? I bought some a couple years back but have never had any luck with them. Might give them a try again. What techniques do you use with them, and are they any different from small stream to river to lake/pond?

Killers. They will work best on really light line (2#). Fish them under a small float and hang on.

scn is dead on. 2# line is a MUST with the 1/64 oz head. My favorite color is Bison. It is a black and gold mix. Very effective on crappie and bluegill.

You don't need to totally spool up with the light line. You can go to a fly shop and buy some tippet material. It looks like 7x is the closest to the 2#. Flourocarbon will have some advantages in very clear water.

Cut off a 4'-5' piece and tie to the end of your main line with a double surgeon's knot. You will be good to go.

Trout magnet has a website, and sells that line as tippet at a reasonable price. They are good to deal with.

Trout magnets are my go to lures if I have a friend or family that wants to catch some trout and they don't fly fish.

They work really well on just about anything that swims. You can watch videos on how to fish them here:

The 2 lb test serves two purposes. First is action. You can impart more action with a light line. Second is casting distance.

I use a TM two ways. If the wind is blowing hard, I will fish one under a float. If I have no wind, I go with the twitch method. There are times where a pause amongst twitches is the ticket.

Try the hellgramite and crawdad ones if you're stream fishing. They work relly well for trout here in the mountains. Just toss em upstream and drift back to you.

They are awesome not just for trout but also bream, crappie and even occasionally bass. I've even hooked a couple of carp on them. Trout slayers are awesome too. And crappie magnets, the bigger version of trout magnets

Yes the color called "BISON" is great for panfish as stated earlier...I caught 30 crappie and bluegill on that color alone in the TM size on a 1/64 hook two weeks ago in Middle Tennessee.
Do use the 2 lb. fluoro leader for sure.
