Hey guys, new to here. Question I got for ya. Got 2 nice brown filets i caught monday. What's a good way to fix them other than just coating and frying them. thanks.

Lemon pepper seasonings are really the most a trout needs. I've never filleted a trout out before. I always cooked them whole, wrapped in foil in the coals of a fire.

I'd say season them to taste, slap them in butter on a hot skillet for a minute each side, and eat.

You could also grill them or smoke them.

Very seldom filet a trout either. Most often cook them whole [sans head] One of my favorite ways is to cook them on the grill, melt some butter and mix in a little salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Baste the trout with the butter mixture and grill till it flakes with a fork.
I also like them pan fried, use equal parts cornmeal and flour, salt and pepper to taste, roll trout in flour mixture and fry em up.
I've even broiled them in an oven, salt and pepper, cut thin slices of lemon and place inside body cavity. Broil till flakey.

Hey,yea I usually don't but this was pretty good one and i wound up with 2 nice fillets that i was just looking to try something different. I've got some rainbows to cook other ways.

Generally cook them whole, but have filleted them a few times, just to try different cooking methods.

I'd just bread them lightly with seasoned flour and pan fry them. Squeeze a lemon wedge over them and eat.

Whole, I like to put a few slices of lemon and orange along with a few sprigs of thyme inside while they are grilling in foil.
