I put them out in very early spring; say early March. Most put them on a stump, but I have the best results putting them on red-clay dirt, preferrably a mound of dirt.

I put mine along major trails leading to feeding areas, generally with 50 yards of the food source.

i shot a doe 2 weeks ago that had stopped to lick 1 laying on the ground, wondered why they stopped behind some tree's & when i went to get my arrow there was a T.R. i was hunting a blind of my brothers & i did'nt know it was there, thumbs up on putting 1 out anywhere & any time,mike243

I dug and hole in the ground and put the dirt back in it, then put the trophy rock on top. Dug the hole just to loosen the dirt and within a week they dug it right back up. Seemed to work good for me anyways.
