Have you ever noticed that most hunters only want to bag a big one? Consider herd management, a cattle farmer doesn't go out and select his biggest prize herd bull for the freezer but either selects young and tender or old and no good for reproduction to fill the freezer. Why don't concerned sportsmen do the same?

That same cattle farmer doesn't manage for the biggest to keep every one of them. Eventually he markets the desired results. He also has absolute control over each head of those cattle. Without high fencing no one has control of deer...or which buck/s are doing the breeding.

Cattle farmers put in their own freezer something that will not market good. All cattle farmers try to grow the biggest and best livestock they can for market which ends up in someones freezer. What you are suggesting is to let the older trophies die of old age and no one benefits. Deer are not managed for the highest profit for the land owner but they are managed for a healthy herd with the sportsman in mind. Most hunters want something to be proud of and that means shooting the good ones.

Theres no such thing as comparing the management of a domestic cow to a free ranging whitetail. This is not a concern to any sportsman I know.

Ihunt for the largest horns I can find,if you want to kill spikes and 4ptrs Its ok with me.

The point is, you don't manage cattle like you manage deer. Different species, different herd dynamics.

And they never will, simply because they don't want to "get it." They have a personal opinion/viewpoint and they will ignore anything that does not support that viewpoint. Unfortunately, just Human Nature. You can see it in discussions of any topic.
