1st thing I suspect is the battery itself. 2nd the motor, remove the prop and make sure it doesn't have a nest of line wrapped around the shaft, robbing it of power.
What size boat is your little 30 on? Do you have to use it on max power all the time? If so you might only get a couple of hours run time on a battery.
