Troling motor ?

My trolling motor stoped working it had a short in the handle for a couple months but now it wont do anything. Sounds like the switch has gone bad or a broke wire maybe. My ? is how do you get inside the darn thing? lol I have taken the head off but the wires R so short I can't pull it off the shaft to get to anything, anybody know anything about them?

I went to Grizzy and got a new switch but for a Minn kota, mine is a Prowler by bass pro, I got it working but the conection are loose I guess I can solder them on. I was thinking about something else on the short wire thing lol
