I'm purchasing a muzzleloader this year. Would you guys go with the TC Triumph(not bone collector) or the CVA Accura MR nitride? Both seem great, the CVA is about $60 cheaper...

The nitride finish will last a lifetime VS the painted on stuff tc uses. Nitride Stainless steel VS painted steel, you do the math.

Have the stainless accura v2 and no complaints. Nothing against tc, a lot of deer have fallen here to a trusty old tc black diamond, but i would buy the mr without hesitation if I were in the market.

I prefer SS too but you seemed to like Traditions "painted on stuff" . Why is the T/C "stuff" so much worse than Traditions "stuff"? Neither one is SS under the "stuff".

Dipped on stuff is nice on the Traditions rifles.

I do not care one bit for the TC finish, especially when you take the sights off and a chunk of finish comes off with it :rotf:

You do realize that both are Cerakote. Early T/C Weather Shield aka Cerakote was done by Ultra Coatings. The same company that made Ultra Bore Coat.

We applied the Weather Shield to almost 10,000 Triumph and Omega bbls. over a 7 mo. period last year.Due to shipping cost T/C has moved there coating closer to home. Weather Shield is our Stainless Steel CeraKote.

In other words, its the same "stuff".
