Looks like something I could make for $10 but it also looks like something to get tangled up in

You can do the same with just a piece of rope. Tie it above your stand and grab it with your off hand at whatever level you need to rest your rifle across that hand. Works fairly well. Used to hunt across corn fields with tree stands in the edges….
