I have read mixed reviews on tree tubes. Most of the positive is from guys in the South. Has anyone used them long enough to have an opinion?

I have em on mine, dont see ant negatives, only been a few years.BSK likes em I believe he said he did.I bought some land near Lobellvile Richmanbbq, are you near there?

Richard,

I have been using the 5-foot Tubex tree tubes from Forestry Suppliers for about 5 years now. They not only keep the deer and rabbits off, but they act as mini greenhouses. The growth rate of the trees inside the tubes are phenomenal compared to those planted the same time without tubes. The trees I used the tubes on were all bare-root seedlings, about 1-foot tall when planted. I've used the tubes with sawtooth oak, crabapple, plums, and persimmons with great success. I will always use the tubes when planting small seedlings. All of my apple and pear trees were over 5 feet tall when planted, so I didn't use the tubes with them.

Here are a few of exapmles of my tubes.
