I went out to put Christmas flowers over my sons grave today. Someone has hung a tree stand over looking the cemetery. I don't like it. Something about hunting over my sons grave bothers me. Hard to see but here is a picture

Owned by the church. So if I go out there in the morning and sit by my sons grave, is that hunters harassment?

I looked at the property data site and he might be a couple feet on the next property, but unless he sits backwards he is hunting over the line.

That is plain wrong but doesn't surprise me a bit with the people we are surrounded by today. Selfish and disrespectful.

I think the most direct way to handle this is to go out there when the hunter is there and have a real talk with him. Don't be angry, don't make accusations, don't demand he not hunt there, just tell him how it makes you feel, from one Hunter to another. If he doesn't take his stand down and hunt somewhere else following that conversation, he's a lowdown excuse for a human being.

I tend to agree with this. I would like to hear his reasoning for doing this.

My hunting buddy is buried over off Hwy 100 at Harpeth Hills. If I could figure out a way to hunt over there with him one last time I would set up a stand or a blind right over his grave. Not very realistic dream to say the least.

I wonder could he have anyone else in that cemetery that could be motivating him to want to hunt there?

I guess I see it differently. I would love to know I could still be part of the hunt after I'm gone.

That's sorta what I was thinking /saying with my post.

That's why I would want to talk to the hunter and find out what his motivation was for hunting there. If he had a loved one buried there? Like above? Is it a tribute to someone buried there?

Or is it just someone being disrespectful and hunting without a cause. I'm sorta leaning towards the close proximity of the stand that the hunter has a reason to be hunting over that cemetery for reasons other than just deer hunting, I could be totally wrong,

I've told my family I don't want to be buried. I want to be cremated and loaded in shotgun shells and have my kids shoot me over the farm opening day of squirrel season or dove season so I can hunt with them one last time. My wife said he'll no.
