Is anyone able to help me identify this tree/bush? It's ~15' tall, 1-3" dbh. Is it worth hinge cutting or better to cut it down to get sunlight to the floor for spring/summer. Planning to hang a set nearby for certain winds. Deer bedding in this stuff already but doubt it's any nutritional value (could be wrong). It's adjacent to a small pond that drops off into a bottomland hardwood stand with mixture of mature oaks and cypress. Thanks in advance!

It wasn't as smooth as the pics of hornbeam. Google says ironwood Is another name? If so, I definitely recognized some ironwood nearby that area as well. I used my kizer blade to cut a few trunks and they were definitely easier to cut than that of an ironwood. Either way, I learned that I am gonna need my 251stihl next time.

Sent this to two buddies and they thought it may be a water Tupelo? Bark is similar but the pictures i am seeing online dont show multiple trunks like these. Some of these trees/bushes have 10 or more, of what I'm calling trunks, coming off at the base of the tree.

This shows $30 a year, at least for me.
On the screen showing $29/year, click on "Cancel" at the top right and you will be in business. Click on the camera at the bottom center and you're ready to go.

Another cool feature of this app is it keeps a history of all everything you've identified in the "My Plants" section to the right of the camera.
