So I wanted to start trapping crawfish and had a question. The regs specify to tag them (the traps) with your name and address; what's the best way to do that? I honestly don't plan on leaving them overnight due to theft potential but I want to do it legally. Any advice?

That's actually what I was thinking. I Google where to them them made. I've still got a buddy in my old squadron that makes them, don't want to put him on the spot though.

Most grocery stores and Wal-Mart have a little kiosk where you can make them too.

I'd have to double check the regs, but what you're suggesting is exactly right or more info than required...so you're good is what I'm trying to say there.

you can buy tags with a metal grommet that will withstand getting pulled on without tearing. Use that, a permanent marker, and a zip tie, and you're golden.

Seems like the metal ones would be more pricey, but maybe not.

I ended up using one of those "water proof" license holders and just stuck it to the trap clip, and believe it or not it worked great. Now, doe the ID tag have to be on the trap itself?

Also, do you have to wear your fishing license exposed? CA used to makes us wear it on the outside of our clothing but luckily they did away with that.
