trapping laws

I am interested in trapping on my farm primarily for coyotes using leghold traps.What is the law regarding trap placement?Can my traps be in open areas using dirthole or pipe set? There is an overabundance of coyotes using my land and some dogs down the street.What is the law?I have no intention of killing a neighbors dog and I use offset traps.What about snares?Are they legal to use in Tennessee for coyotes?Pretty sure a neighbors dog wouldnt fare well in one of them.

Only cushion jaw traps are legal on top of the ground. All others, including offset jaws are only legal in water sets or at least 12" back in a burrow/hole.
