Back in the 1950's my Dad , born in 1904 showed me some trapping techniques he learned as a boy, when game laws were lax or nonexistent and ammo and steel traps too expensive. I'll give the names he used. Quail trap for small birds, turkey trap, deadfall with figure 4 trigger mostly for fur bearers, snares both rigid and springpole, a couple variations of hollow logs, and box traps made from lumber.
