Trapping DIY Catch/Release Pole

Made a catch pole to release non target catches. I have not used it yet, but thought I would post the video I modeled mine by. Don't remember total cost, but not much and much cheaper than buying one.

I made one similar. Ive used it a few times and it works ok. I do admit i have trust issues with it but so far so good. Sure beats buying one.

I made one like the first post except mine is pvc. I was letting a house cat out one day and I guess I sucked some of its hair up in the hole where the cable enters the pvc cap and it didn't get tight around the cat. Luckily it didn't claw my eyes out when I let it's foot out. My uncle told me the best way is to cut a small cedar and use it as blocking to keep in between you and the animal while letting it out. I have also seen a forked stick to pin there head to the ground while letting them out.

I made mine out of PVC with a clothes line tensioner at one end and a cable clamp at the other. I would have used a ferrule instead but didn't have one at the time.
