To keep the trajectory from 50 to 120 yds in a coffee can lid how high at what range would the rifle needed to be sighted in? I'm putting a 22 lr varmint rifle together?

Need to know the measured velocity of the ammo your using in your gun to accurately calculate that. The speed on the box is seldom correct.

Using win hp as a model here are the inches above and below with a 100 zero. It's 2.5 ish high at 60 yards and 3.27 low at 120.

So I could hold in the center from 20 to 120 yds and keep all shots in a yotes chest? I got some places I don't want to use a centerfire, that CCI velocitor round is as close to a 22mag as I can find, 40 grain bullet at 1500 fps.

I don't have the velocitor in my app. It should shoot a little flatter at that speed than the chart I posted so if it's accurate will be even better.

In my opinion, Get a scope with a drop reticle in it and zero it at 50 and figure out the hash distances. 2.5' high at 45yds and 5' low at 120 is gonna be a crapshoot. Most standard high velocity zeroed at 50 will be about 4-5" low at 100. I'd zero it at 50 and see where you hit at 100, so it's useful at any distance.

If you are around 1400 FPS you will be 2.1 inches high at 65 yards and 2.6 low at 120 with a 100 zero. I would definitely chrono the load and verify on paper then you will be sure.

According to my strelok pro app, using factory velocity, if you zero at 89 yards, you'll dial down 3.1moa at 50 yards and dial up 3.1moa at 120 yards.
Need to chronograph your actual velocity from your gun to tweak those numbers.

Ok, I shot the rifle today at 25-50-75-100 with the first 3 of a stack of not over an inch between them and the 100 about 4 inches lower so about a 5" stack. I'll post a pic of the target later. I'd shoot 2 shots with the bull as the aim point and then move the target to the next distance and so on so 1 target has it all.
