Trail Cams on State Forest WMAs

A friend of mine was talking about putting cameras out in a local WMA and some more in a nearby State Forest. I told him I thought for the WMA you had to have permission but I wasn't sure about the state forest. Is there a place where this codified? I thought maybe in the hunting regulation magazine but I looked through it and could not find where you had to get permission on WMAs. In fact I could not find trail cameras mentioned at all in the hunting regulations, may I have overlooked it?

Call the local TWRA office. Get the name of the person you talk to for confirmation if there is a question later. I have never seen anything about cameras on the WMAs. Me? I would be hesitant about leaving cameras on public land. Too many thieves.

This is in the regs regarding personal property on WMAs under Big Game Hunting.

"Leaving any personal property, including tree stands, unattended for more than 24 hours is prohibited without prior approval of the area manager."
