Made my first trail cam pull thus weekend on my primary farm in preparation for the upcoming season. This is the best deer so far. I thought it would be cool to get opinions on the age, score and if you would harvest..

Velvet adds 10" in my opinion and it's hard to pinpoint age in the summer. I think he's 140" and 4.5+

I would agree that the velvet makes them look big. It's also tough to get perspective from a camera. I think that deer will carry his mass when out of velvet and he has tremendous tine length. Plus he was well away from the camera when the picture was taken.

Anyone dare to take a stab at what the deer in the back scored in the picture below? He was actually harvested the same year as the photo during rifle season chasing a doe.

My guess would be right at 150" gross hard horn.

The guy who killed this deer scored him multiple times at 177" gross. He scored high due to mass and was as a mainframe 10 point with two additional points (kicker off the left side you can't see). He was over 6" at the base and his other circumference measurements were all 5". My initial thought was that he would do 160" he doesn't look like 170+ deer.

145" on the buck killed. I'd say about the same on this year's buck. Great mass and tine length. Did anyone kill the 2014 buck with the screwy right beam?

WOW! :shock: That is right at 180" which I have a hard time believing. I would like to see his score sheet. With that said, that is just one pic and sometimes that one pic don't tell the full story. Nice buck nonetheless, congrats to the fortunate hunter who got him. Was he killed in TN?

He was over 6" at the base and his other circumference measurements were all 5".

If he truly had 40"+ of mass, then I can see a 170"+ score. With that said, I have only see a handful of TN bucks that approached/exceeded 40" of mass and their unusually large circumferences were real easy to see, not so much in the pic above.

I had hundreds of pictures of that buck (Torch) during the summer that year. He was seen by the guy I hunt with twice during early bow season and we never seen him again or got a picture of him since. I think he moved off the farm that year after a doe and was likely killed or poached.

Yes he was killed in TN in a county bordering Kentucky.

4.5 years old
135+ (he will be close to 140 but not quite)
Yes - I'd shoot him in a heartbeat. I have an affinity for big 8 pointers
