Trail cam viewers

Need help. Been taking a regular camera for years to view my trail cam pictures. Is a trail cam viewer worth the money, and is alot better than my camera one such as a Moultrie or sd viewer or does anyone else have any other suggestions.

If so, just buy a $15 memory card reader.

Most lap tops will read your SD cards. Before ya spend the money on a card reader try it out first. And try every way possible to open the pics.

True. Mine will only read one size memory card. I have cameras that take different sizes of memory cards and need the reader.

But thats as simple as it comes. I just ride around, pull a card, check on computer, save the pics I want on a flash drive, head on about my way.

I carry an old laptop with me to view the cards from cameras that do not have viewers built into them (a real pain--I prefer cameras with built in viewers). But also remember that older computer operating systems and older card readers will not view the newer SDHC cards (SD cards that hold more than 2 GB). You will need a new multi-card reader to view these cards (and I just bought one for $9 at WalMart).

I used to haul a laptop in with me but later switched to an Ipad with a sd card adapter. Works like a champ.

iPads and little Netbooks can read SD cards, and any device that has a USB port can accept the universal card readers.

If your laptop want accept the card you are using in your camera, you can get a multi card reader from Wal-mart. Its for about $20.00 it's made by Targus.

You need to either swap the cards, or bring the cam out,you are leaving to much scent as it is.....Get in and get out wear your rubber boots and gloves.
That is why I love this trailcam stuff ,there is a bit of science to it,and you learn with every pull.Just like the last pull I had with the turkeys running with the deer ,I have seen this on several occasions ,they use each other for survival

If you have a smart phone you can get a 15.00 card reader for it and use the phone as a viewer. It is more convenient than taking my laptop and you can save it to the phone's micro SD card and reformat the camera's card. You only need half the cards.

That's a great idea. I'm just not going to drop the big bucks for a smart phone and service plan!

But I do wish someone would sell an inexpensive combination viewer and storage device (something with a screen bigger than 2 or 3 inches across).
